Imagine commuting every day without spending on petrol or worrying about pollution. The government’s plan is not just policy it’s a turning point for environmental sustainability, economic relief, and future mobility.

Why Did the Government Launch the Electric Bike Subsidy Scheme?

Between 2028 and 2029 alone, the government allocated over PKR 24 billion and 26 billion respectively to support EVs. The idea is simple: reduce reliance on imported fossil fuels, make clean transport affordable, and boost energy conservation. PM Shehbaz Sharif announced this under Pakistan’s new EV policy on Independence Day. The plan includes building infrastructure and encouraging local assembly, with a long-term goal of having 30 lakh electric vehicles on Pakistani roads.
